Katarina Andersson 8. I can’t be more pleased with our effort under baskets. We got 39p from our inside players and that was one of the key factors in bringing home wanted outcome.
1: 17-18. We start very strong. We talked before the game how important it is to earn momentum direct and don’t let Luleå players to get going. 12-0 run – one can say a dream start. Luleå takes a timeout and fights back thanks to Elin’s Söderström perfect shooting and our 5 TO.
2: 16:18. A nightmare with our 9 TO in this quarter. We want to push the ball, but we need to learn to have a better timing, a better angle, and who we want to pass the ball to. We get a big scoring from Katta and Christy and big numbers in rebounding.
We go to a big break 33-36. Defensively we wanted to do a better job on Elin and take a much better care of the ball. We still wanted to look for inside game, reading better Luleå’s defensive rotation and taking advantage of it. We wanted to move a little better without the ball and find quicker high-low entrance.
3: 13-17. We demonstrate solid defense. In this quarter Lydia Karlefors who carries her team on her shoulders with 7p. Christy has a big quarter by stopping Elin (Op.) and scoring 8p. and grabbing 4r. I hope our 6 TO in this quarter provide us with the lessons for the future.
4: 19-20. A lots of drama and emotions. Very important FTs at the end of the game are made by
Emma Halldin-Wedin 4/4 and Jossan 2/2.
In summarizing, I must say that we had control of the game for the most part. Very positive about
Maria’s Näsström performance. Sorry MARRE, I played you 1,55sek. to much. The most pleasing factor is that she doesn’t feel any pain in her knee.
Maria Gültekin gave us 4 assists and no doubt it was cool for her to make her debut I Pontushallen as damligan player.

Pontushallen in Luleå is one of the best arenas to play. I loved as a player myself to play there in front of a big crowd and the team that one has always to respect.
Over the years, they have ‘made’ names and ‘taken down’ names, they have created traditions that hold a gold value for the whole Swedish basketball.
We travel with 10 players who, I have no doubts, will set their minds for a fight and full concentration. To squeeze the best out of us, we have to demonstrate quality, and there is no better way to approach the game than with DEFENSE.
“Hard work hasn’t killed anyone and every day we wake up, we have a choice how much we want to invest today” - Pat Summitt. As it has been to this point, we put priority #1 on defending our own basket. We need and we want to play better 1-1 defense and have a better consistency in our rotations. Priority #2: rebounding that provides higher chances for us to succeed. That requires self-discipline and heart. It is so much easier to attack smart when we have full control on defensive end.
We have been working on building relationships and system that I hope provides learning and best possibilities for individual and team performance. What is absolutely great about the heart is that it possesses a freedom to show how much we care about each other and the final result we have set in front of us. Journey is all about challenges and discoveries. I smile while writing this in realizing how cool it is to land in Pontushallen tomorrow this time as the coach!
